They asked us to be active citizens, not just passive consumers. They turned trepidation into resolve and inspired us to play on the same team for our common good.

The Titanic was considered invincible but met her demise because of arrogance and apathy. As a nation we find ourselves drifting in troubled waters, led by leaders who lack foresight over the horizon. The hull has been breached and our plight will worsen if we don’t demand intelligent leadership that conducts our collective affairs with prudence.

America has boundless potential. There are many progressive trends in our society and private enterprise is performing admirably. We have reservoirs of resilience, awesome assets as a nation and an underlying decency as a people. If we reject the politics of polarization and insist on common sense solutions, we will live up to our infinite promise.
